Disposable Gloves and Masks
We have always used disposable gloves and masks to treat our patients. This is part of our standard level of care and is the first line of defense for ensuring the safety of our team and patients. Masks and gloves help to prevent the transfer of diseases and are disposed of immediately after use to further prevent contamination.
Air Purification
There have been a number of air purification methods added to ensure patient safety.
External vacuum apparatus help catch aerosols from patients’ mouths during treatment. As COVID-19 is a water-borne disease, this helps to catch any virus that may escape a patient’s mouth. The air purifier catches the infected air and runs it through various hospital-grade filters, before returning the cleaned air into the room.
UV Disinfection Cabinets
UV light is excellent at killing bacteria and virus. Money, tubes, and other small items are sterilized in these cabinets after use to kill any surface contaminants. Sterilization pouches are also placed into these cabinets to keep them sterile before use.
Chemical Disinfectants
Disinfectants such as hydrogen peroxide, sodium hypochlorite, hypochlorous solution are some powerful disinfectants which are used to clean the operatory and dental instruments between uses.
